2009 marked the first year for the climb in Colorado Springs, held in the beautiful Cheyenne Mountain State Park.

It began grey and rainy, but that didn't stop my team and we were rewarded with a beautiful sunny day by late morning
and it was a great day for a hike. This wasn't really a car event, but the Cancer Society had me display it
up front during the opening registration period and again at the end.

Cold and rainy, but we're still smiling! |
The climb had several options to suit any level of hiker or biker - the longest was about five miles of rolling
terrain in the park. Naturally, we picked the longest option and enjoyed a lot of great views, mostly of the inside
of clouds!

Thanks to my team for their awesome support! |
The weather really cleared up at the end, and lunch was provided by area restaurants in support of the cancer society.
It was a great time, thanks to my awesome team: L-R: Julie, Brenda, Krystle, Bruce...and me.
